  • Day 1-2

    Arrival Arusha
    Overnight at Hatari Lodge.

    You will be met at the International Airport of Kilimanjaro by Zagas Explorer driver guide. You will then be transferred to Hatari Lodge – a stunning and innovatively designed lodge, former home of German film star Hardy Krueger, overlooking the Momella Swamps and Buffalo Meadow. Both the looming Mount Kilimanjaro and the dramatic peaks of Mount Meru are visible in the distance. Depending on your arrival schedule you will have time to relax and enjoy your dinner in beautiful surroundings.

    Full day of safari activities in and around Hatari Lodge. All activities have been specially designed by the passionate and dedicated owner-managers, who have combined their years of knowledge to create something really quite special. Activities include boating on the Momella Lakes, walking at Mount Meru Crater, and birding in the lands between Kilimanjaro and Meru – a veritable bird-lovers paradise. Knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides will accompany you throughout. Transfer time without game viewing 1, 5 hours via Arusha National Park. Overnight at Hatari Lodge. Dinner included

  • Day 3-5

    Serengeti National Park
    Melia Serengeti Lodge (LX) or Kati Kati Tented Camp (AD) Full Board.

    After a leisurely breakfast and morning your guide will take you to West Kili Airstrip nearby for your flight to Serengeti at around 12:30 hrs. Upon arrival at around 14:30, the driver will welcome you and take you to your Lodge / camp. Spend the rest of the day at leisure and enjoy a beautiful sunset over the savannah.

    Two full days to explore this, the world’s most wild and famous wildlife sanctuary. Early morning game drive to see nocturnal predators returning from hunting and animals waking up in early morning light. Full day of game drives around Serengeti. Depending on the time of year and the migration of the herds you can expect to see wildebeest, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, antelopes, myriad bird species and, of course, the fabled “Big Five” – lion, elephant, cape buffalo, black rhino and leopard. Enjoy your picnic lunches in the bush, cautiously approach the hippo pool, and generally marvel at the rough, rugged and ever-expanding wilderness which surrounds you.

  • Day 6

    Ngorongoro Conservation Area
    Overnight at Kitela Lodge (LX) or Ngorongoro Farmhouse (AD), Full Board.

    After leisurely breakfast you travel towards Ngorongoro. Around 11:00 am. You reach Ngorongoro Conservation Area and you go on a game drive at the world famous Ngorongoro Crater. It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations and one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in its natural habitat. Driving time without game viewing 3 – 3, 5 hours. Overnight at Kitela Lodge (LX) or Ngorongoro Farmhouse (AD), Full Board.

  • Day 7-9

    Lake Manyara Ranch
    Overnight at Manyara Ranch Camp (LX). Full Board.

    Take a morning nature walk at the Endoro Trail of, where you will spot birds and monkeys, and whatever else you may happen across! Escorted by a ranger, you will track the animal paths through the bush, and really experience the sights, sounds and scents of this stunning and pristine corner of the world.

    After lunch depart for Manyara Ranch Conservancy a wildlife-rich corridor between Tarangire and Lake Manyara. Here, you will spend two days exploring and discovering, as per your own personalized safari schedule. The camp manager, an experienced and enthusiastic safari guide, will greet you and discuss with you your program preferences for the next two days. Afterwards, you can take in the beautiful landscape, enjoy a delicious dinner, and watch zebra and wildebeest wandering past your window, before resting in your luxury tent.

    Full days of safari activities at the private Manyara Ranch Conservancy (home to eland, greater kudu, striped hyena, bull elephant, breeding giraffes, wildebeest, zebra, oryx, lion, cheetah, leopard and the rarely seen bat-eared fox) as per your specific wishes. This may include cultural visits to nearby villages, nature walks in the surrounding landscape, night time game drives also off road, watching animals along the river from hides and more – and all with a flair of unique Manyara Ranch luxury!

    Driving time without game viewing 2- 5 hours. Overnight at Manyara Ranch Camp (LX). Full Board.

  • Day 10

    Departure

    Early morning game driving / safari activities as per your wishes and specific schedule. Depart Manyara Ranch after breakfast and transfer to Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey. Transfer time 3 hours. Breakfast included. NB – if you have an early departure from Kilimanjaro Airport (earlier than midafternoon) we suggest returning to Arusha on the previous day and spending your last night in Arusha instead.

Booking Terms & Conditions

Basic guidelines to aid you as you plan to make your booking to travel to Africa on your Safari Expedition. This is not an exhaustive list, our Tour consultants are always standby to give you all the necessary guidance accordingly.

Booking Procedure

All applications for provisional or confirmed reservations are to be made by the Client by way of letter, facsimile or e-mail addressed to Zagas Explorer.
No reservation will be deemed made unless acknowledged and accepted in writing by Zagas Explorer. Provisional reservations will only be held for 14 days, after which the booking will be released. Please ensure the following information is included:

      » Date and time of arrival
      » Number of people and room requirement
      » Full names of client, and ages of children in the group (if applicable)
      » Any special requirements

Cancellation Policy

Reservations cancelled are charged as below:

      » Between 60 and 31 days prior to arrival a 25% cancellation fee will be charged.
      » Between 30 and 15 days prior to arrival a 50% cancellation fee will be charged.
      » Between 14 and 0 days prior to arrival a 100% cancellation fee will be charged.
      » Cancellation fees are calculated on the rate per person and on the total value of the Reservation made.

Rates

All amounts are denominated in US Dollars and payments must be made in the nominated currency. In the case of any future increases in fuel, currency fluctuations, component costs or government taxes, Zagas Explorer reserves the right to renegotiate the rates. Conservancy fees are mandatory and will be included in the invoice.

Deposit Requirements

A refundable deposit of 30% is to be received by Zagas Explorer within 7 working days from date of confirmation. The final balance of 70% of the total value of the reservation(s) will be payable at least 30 days prior to the guests arrival.

Refunds

Should any client arrive late or request an early departure, no refund will be granted. Whilst Zagas Explorer will ensure that all anticipated accommodation will be available as planned, there shall be no claim of any nature against Zagas Explorer for a refund, either in part or whole, if any accommodation and or excursion is unavailable and a reasonable alternative was found – or if guests were unable to make use of the service for any reason.

Insurance

All guests should take out comprehensive insurance cover when paying their confirmation deposit, to cover them for cancellation, curtailment, medical expenses, personal baggage, emergency evacuation back home and money.

Disclaimer

This agreement is made subject to and shall be governed and construed according to the laws of Tanzania. Neither Zagas Explorer, nor any person acting for, through or on behalf of the company shall be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever and without restricting the generality of the foregoing shall particularly not be responsible for loss or damage arising from any errors or omission contained in the brochure or other literature, late or non-confirmation or acceptance of bookings, loss or damage caused by delays, sickness, injury or death whether occasioned by negligence or not. In addition, the company shall have the right at any time at its discretion to cancel any tour or the remainder thereof or make any alteration in route, accommodation, price or other detail and in the event of any tour being rendered impossible, illegal, or inadvisable by the weather, avalanches, strike, war, government or interference or any other causes whatsoever. The extra expense incurred as a result thereof shall be the responsibility of the passenger.

The company may, at its discretion and without liability or cost to itself, at any time cancel or terminate the passenger's booking and in particular without limiting the generality of the foregoing, it shall be entitled to do so in the event of the illness or the illegal or incompatible behavior of the passenger, who shall in such circumstances not be entitled to any refund.

Please be aware that these safaris may take you into close contact with wild animals. Attacks by wild animals are rare, but no safari into the African Wilderness can guarantee that this will not occur. Neither the company, nor its employees, nor its agents can be held responsible for any injury or incident on the safari.
