    Arrival Arusha
    Mount Meru Game Lodge

    You will be met upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport by Zagas Explorer driver guide and be driven to the River trees Country Inn for a safari briefing. This charming lodge is situated at the banks of picturesque Usa River on an old German coffee estate and offers stunning views towards Mt. Meru and Mt Kilimanjaro. Alternative accommodation at Mount Meru Game Lodge at the slopes of Mt Meru with an attached game sanctuary. Dinner

  • Day 2

    Arusha National Park
    2 Nights at Mount Meru Game Lodge

    Your program starts at a slow pace. First you enjoy your breakfast served on your private verandah overlooking the lush green gardens of your lodge. Afterwards you drive to Arusha National Park, once the site of the action packed Hollywood movie Hatari, starring John Wayne and Hardy Kruger. You pass by herds of zebra, buffalo, and giraffe on the savannah. Enjoy a picnic lunch at Momella Lake, famous for huge flocks of colorful flamingos and its views at majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro. You continue in the afternoon with a game drive around the different habitats in this truly beautiful national park. 2 Nights at Mount Meru Game Lodge. Half board.

  • Day 3

    Lake Manyara National Park
    Overnight at Kirurumu Manyara Lodge (LX), Fullboard.

    After breakfast you’ll drive across the floor of the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park for your first game drive. This beautiful park combines an alkali lake covered with flocks of pelicans and flamingos with African savannah and tropical forests of giant fig and mahogany trees. Elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra and a variety of antelope inhabit the park as well as a variety of monkeys and a large population of hippos. If you are lucky you may see the Manyara lions, well known for their tree climbing habits, lazily resting on the branches of an “Acacia tortilis” tree. The birdlife is also abundant, with flamingoes, pelicans, hornbills and plenty of forest species. Driving time without game viewing approx. 2:30 – 3 hours. Overnight at Kirurumu Manyara Lodge (LX) or Marera Valley Lodge (AD) Full board

  • Day 4-5

    Serengeti National Park
    Overnight at Kati Kati Tented Camp (LX or Osupuko Camp (AD) at Serengeti. Full board

    After breakfast you start on your way to Serengeti National Park likely the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world. The vast Serengeti plains cover an area of about 15,000 square kilometers and during the months of the Great Migration, is the habitat of huge numbers of wildebeest, zebra and Thomson’s gazelle. The Serengeti Kopjes, massive boulder islands of granite standing in a sea of grass, provide shelter to a great variety of plants and animals, from the elusive leopard to the tiny dik dik. After stopping for your picnic lunch at such a kopje you will continue further into the park and go on a game drive.

    Enjoy your game drives around Serengeti named after an old Masai word Siringet, meaning ‘Endless Plains’. Depending on the time of year and the migration of the herds you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes and many birds and other species. Return to your luxury camp for late lunch under Acacia Trees or stay in the bush until late afternoon.

    Driving time without game viewing -4, 5 hours. Overnight at Kati Kati Tented Camp (LX or Osupuko Camp (AD) at Serengeti. Full board

  • Day 6

    Ngorongoro Conservation Area
    Overnight at The Retreat Ngorongoro (PR) or Tloma Lodge (AD), Full board

    After breakfast you travel through Serengeti again and drive towards Ngorongoro. You reach Ngorongoro Conservation Area home of the world famous Ngorongoro Crater. It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations and one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in its natural habitat. Driving time without game viewing approx.-3 hours. Overnight at The Retreat Ngorongoro (PR) or Tloma Lodge (AD), Full board

  • Day 7

    Arusha - Zanzibar
    Emerald Dream of Zanzibar (LX) or Z Hotel (LX). Half Board

    After a leisurely breakfast we will take you back to Arusha for your flight to Zanzibar. Transfer to your beach hotel. Overnight at Emerald Dream of Zanzibar (LX) or Z Hotel (LX). Half Board

  • Day 8-10

    Beach Resort Zanzibar

    Relax and enjoy Zanzibar’s Beaches around your resort. Half board

    Tour Stone town & Spice Tour
    On one day you go on a guided tour to visit the Spice Plantations at Kidichi for the famous Spice Tour. After the tour we invite for an opulent lunch at the ‘Spice Restaurant’, where you can taste the spices and fruits. In the afternoon we will show you Stone Town on our Historical Stone Town Tour. This tour takes you through fabled Stone Town, where history appears to stand still. With visits to the House of Wonders, the Palace Museum (People’s Palace) and the Old Fort amongst others, it is a fascinating look at the essence of Zanzibar. You will see Zanzibar’s bustling market, winding alleyways, ornately carved and studded doors, two cathedrals and countless mosques! Transfer back to your beach hotel.

  • Day 11

    Departure

    Check out and be transferred to Zanzibar Airport for departure. Breakfast included.

Booking Terms & Conditions

Basic guidelines to aid you as you plan to make your booking to travel to Africa on your Safari Expedition. This is not an exhaustive list, our Tour consultants are always standby to give you all the necessary guidance accordingly.

Booking Procedure

All applications for provisional or confirmed reservations are to be made by the Client by way of letter, facsimile or e-mail addressed to Zagas Explorer.
No reservation will be deemed made unless acknowledged and accepted in writing by Zagas Explorer. Provisional reservations will only be held for 14 days, after which the booking will be released. Please ensure the following information is included:

      » Date and time of arrival
      » Number of people and room requirement
      » Full names of client, and ages of children in the group (if applicable)
      » Any special requirements

Cancellation Policy

Reservations cancelled are charged as below:

      » Between 60 and 31 days prior to arrival a 25% cancellation fee will be charged.
      » Between 30 and 15 days prior to arrival a 50% cancellation fee will be charged.
      » Between 14 and 0 days prior to arrival a 100% cancellation fee will be charged.
      » Cancellation fees are calculated on the rate per person and on the total value of the Reservation made.

Rates

All amounts are denominated in US Dollars and payments must be made in the nominated currency. In the case of any future increases in fuel, currency fluctuations, component costs or government taxes, Zagas Explorer reserves the right to renegotiate the rates. Conservancy fees are mandatory and will be included in the invoice.

Deposit Requirements

A refundable deposit of 30% is to be received by Zagas Explorer within 7 working days from date of confirmation. The final balance of 70% of the total value of the reservation(s) will be payable at least 30 days prior to the guests arrival.

Refunds

Should any client arrive late or request an early departure, no refund will be granted. Whilst Zagas Explorer will ensure that all anticipated accommodation will be available as planned, there shall be no claim of any nature against Zagas Explorer for a refund, either in part or whole, if any accommodation and or excursion is unavailable and a reasonable alternative was found – or if guests were unable to make use of the service for any reason.

Insurance

All guests should take out comprehensive insurance cover when paying their confirmation deposit, to cover them for cancellation, curtailment, medical expenses, personal baggage, emergency evacuation back home and money.

Disclaimer

This agreement is made subject to and shall be governed and construed according to the laws of Tanzania. Neither Zagas Explorer, nor any person acting for, through or on behalf of the company shall be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever and without restricting the generality of the foregoing shall particularly not be responsible for loss or damage arising from any errors or omission contained in the brochure or other literature, late or non-confirmation or acceptance of bookings, loss or damage caused by delays, sickness, injury or death whether occasioned by negligence or not. In addition, the company shall have the right at any time at its discretion to cancel any tour or the remainder thereof or make any alteration in route, accommodation, price or other detail and in the event of any tour being rendered impossible, illegal, or inadvisable by the weather, avalanches, strike, war, government or interference or any other causes whatsoever. The extra expense incurred as a result thereof shall be the responsibility of the passenger.

The company may, at its discretion and without liability or cost to itself, at any time cancel or terminate the passenger's booking and in particular without limiting the generality of the foregoing, it shall be entitled to do so in the event of the illness or the illegal or incompatible behavior of the passenger, who shall in such circumstances not be entitled to any refund.

Please be aware that these safaris may take you into close contact with wild animals. Attacks by wild animals are rare, but no safari into the African Wilderness can guarantee that this will not occur. Neither the company, nor its employees, nor its agents can be held responsible for any injury or incident on the safari.
